The Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen gave open lectures at St. Petersburg University

Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Russia Ahmed Salem Al-Wahishi, visited St Petersburg University. During the visit, he held two open meetings with students and staff of St Petersburg University, where he spoke about the relations between the countries.

Ahmed Salem al-Waheishi told about the history of diplomatic relations between Yemen and the USSR, as well as the current state of Russian-Yemeni relations. The diplomat stressed that he supports the study of the Russian language in Yemen and is ready to promote the teaching of the Arabic language in Russia. He added that recently a department of Russian studies was opened at Aden University, which is popular with Yemeni youth.
