On November 25, University Rector A.V. Torkunov met with Walid Hamed Shiltagh, Head of the Arab League Representative Office in Moscow.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation between MGIMO and the Arab League. Specifically, they proposed organizing a two-week professional development course for diplomats at the Arab League headquarters. They also discussed the possibility of jointly hosting a Youth Forum for young people and students from Arab League member countries. The parties also agreed to host a series of events at MGIMO to commemorate the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Arab League early next year.
A.V. Torkunov invited Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the Arab League, to deliver a lecture to the University's students and faculty.
S.I. Surovtsev, Vice Rector for Youth Policy, Social Work, and International Relations, also attended the meeting.
