A delegation from Sultan Qaboos University (Sultanate of Oman), led by Vice-Chancellor His Highness Dr. Fahad bin Al-Julanda Al-Said, paid an official visit to Kazan Federal University.

During the visit, the delegates met with KFU Rector Lenar Safin, where the parties discussed possible options for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in scientific and educational areas.

Under the existing agreements, the universities are already actively collaborating on internships in Arabic language and Omani culture. Additional professional development programs are also being implemented, particularly in the field of Simultaneous Translation (Arabic).

Furthermore, since 2017, scientists from the KFU Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technology, together with colleagues from the Center for Petroleum Technology at Sultan Qaboos University and specialists from the oil company Daleel Petroleum, have been collaborating on the development of cutting-edge technologies and staff development. Joint Russian-Omani projects aimed at supporting scientific research in the fields of polymer and composite materials, catalysts, and reagents for enhanced oil and gas production are being discussed.

"We hope to further develop cooperation in these scientific areas," emphasized Lenar Safin. "I would also like to acknowledge the active support of the Al-Hadara Center for Arab Culture, which, together with the Institute of International Relations, History, and Oriental Studies at Kazan Federal University, is working to strengthen our fruitful ties. I am confident that the collaboration between Kazan Federal University and Sultan Qaboos University will foster intercultural dialogue and effective collaboration in science and education."

His Highness Fahad bin Al-Julanda Al-Said, in turn, expressed admiration for the KFU students' abilities in learning Arabic and their proficiency in it. He also thanked the university's leadership for the comfortable learning and living conditions created for international students.

"Our students are very satisfied with their stay and education at Kazan University. "I hope they will become worthy ambassadors of our university and the Sultanate of Oman as a whole," the Vice Chancellor said. "As for scientific cooperation, following today's visit, we were also extremely interested in the medical field, which is very well-developed at your university. We plan to further expand our cooperation in this area as well."

In conclusion, the rector of the Omani university added that he would like to study in more detail KFU's experience in terms of successful technological and innovative development, as well as interaction with the real economy, in order to apply this experience at his university.

The meeting culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Kazan University and Sultan Qaboos University, under which the parties will implement a joint student exchange program.
